Boston-headquartered mid-market private equity firm TA Associates has promoted six investment professionals around the globe, including Mumbai-based Naveen Wadhera.
Wadhera, formerly a director at the firm, was promoted to principal and will head the firm’s India operations. He will focus on investments in India and other emerging markets, according to a TA Associates statement.
Wadhera led the firm’s investments in Dr Lal PathLabs, one of the country’s largest diagnostic chains of pathology laboratories, and Micromax Informatics, a mobile handset provider.
The promotion follows the recruitment of Dhiraj Poddar as a director in the Mumbai office in September last year. Poddar joined the firm from Standard Chartered, where he was responsible for origination and evaluation of investment opportunities, managing portfolio companies and handling exits.
The firm’s Mumbai office was established in the first quarter of 2009.
TA’s London office also saw two promotions – Christopher Parkin to director and Birker B. Bahnsen to senior vice president. Parkin focuses on investments in financial services and consumer businesses, while Bahnsen focuses on investments in European healthcare and cross sector Scandinavian businesses.
In Menlo Park, James R. Hart was promoted to principal, focusing on investments in the healthcare, business services, financial and consumer sectors. Jason P. Werlin was promoted to senior vice president, focusing on investments in technology and technology-based services companies.
At the firm’ headquarters in Boston, Tad S. Yanagi was promoted to senior vice president. He has a focus on investments in the healthcare and service-related sectors.
Founded in 1968, TA Associates has invested in more than 400 companies and manages more than $16 billion in capital.
