Third Rock launches Pliant Therapeutics with $45 mln Series A

Third Rock Ventures LLC launched Pliant Therapeutics Inc with $45 million in Series A financing to develop new therapies to treat fibrotic disorders. Bernard Coulie, MD, PhD, co-founder and former chief executive officer of ActoGeniX will serve as CEO of the new company. Third Rock’s Neil Exter and Charles Homcy, MD, will join Pliant’s board.
