TransPacific Group has hired Luke Chun as director in its Hong Kong office, the firm told Private Equity International.
Chun joined TransPacific last month, according to his LinkedIn profile. Previously, he was senior vice president at Shinhan Investment Asia for six years. In his career, he has also worked in the sales department of Bloomberg and in the Korea Military Academy as an officer and lecturer, according to his LinkedIn.
He joins Simon Dunn and Wendy Wong in the Hong Kong office and will help the firm’s clients develop relationships with institutional investors based in Korea and around Asia.
“Asia is becoming an increasingly important source of capital for private equity and other alternative investment managers, and we work closely with our clients to help them develop quality relationships with institutional investors across the region,” TransPacific founder and managing director Mark Mason said in a statement.
TransPacific‘s recent clients include ArcLight Capital Partners, Insight Venture Partners and Madison Dearborn Partners, according to the firm. It has offices in New York and Hong Kong, according to PEI Research & Analytics.
