TVM Capital adds to GP group

The Munich- and Boston-based venture firm has promoted Steffen Schuster, whose resume includes stints as a public tech company CFO as well as co-founder and investment director of Siemen’s corporate venture capital arm.

Steffen Schuster has joined TVM Capital’s group of general partners, having been a principal in the venture firm’s corporate finance team since February.

Prior to TVM, Schuster oversaw a turnaround of publicly traded Cycos, a communications software company, as its chief financial officer. He was also co-founder, managing director of finance and investment partner at Mustang Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of Siemens Information & Communication.

At TVM, he has focused on technology investments including an undisclosed sized funding round for Winbox, an internet over television technology company. Schuster also sits on the boards of TVM portfolio companies alfabet and Definiens.

Founded in 1983 under the name Techno Venture Management, TVM rebranded in 2006 as TVM Capital.

The early- and growth-stage firm invests in information and communications technology, biotech and life sciences. It closes its sixth life sciences fund in 2005 on €240.3 million, and its fifth information technology fund in 2002 on €128 million.
