TVM Techno Venture Management, the German-US venture capital firm, has promoted John Chapman to partner.
Chapman, previously a principal at TVM, was responsible for investments in the information & communications technology.
He is the tenth partner to be appointed to TVM and will be based in Munich. Friedrich Bornikoel, managing partner, said that Chapman will help the team assess acquisitions.
“His understanding of tactical positioning and deal negotiations, as well as his ability to operate internationally, plays a central role in the execution of business plans that call for growth via acquisition,” he said.
Chapman joined TVM in April 2000 as investment manager for information and communication technologies (ICT). During his first year, he headed the sale of the German operations of T.I.M.E Communication Services to Genesys , and the sale of ATecoM to GlobeSpan. Prior to TVM, Chapman worked at Paribas, where he built up the bank's mergers & acquisition operations in Germany.
TVM was founded in Munich in 1984. The company has more than E600m of capital invested in Europe and the US. Its focus is on high-growth information and communications technology and life science companies.
