Twitter is near to closing an $800 million two-tranche funding deal that values the company at $8 billion, Reuters reported Thursday, citing the website All Things D. The deal would include a $400 million investment in Twitter and $400 million aimed at cashing out existing investors and employees. It is unclear which investors will supply the new capital.
