Venture-backed newterra acquires Crane's water business
Newterra Ltd, a designer and manufacturer of modular water treatment systems, has bought Crane Water, a division of U.S.-based diversified industrial manufacturer Crane Co. The acquisition price was not released. Newterra said the deal brings expertise in water technologies to the company, as well as opportunities for its modular treatment offerings. Based in Brockville, Ontario, newterra has been backed by Canadian venture capital firm XPV Capital Corp since 2012. Last October, XPV also led an equity financing of the company with the participation of Angeleno Group, RobecoSAM, Ontario Venture Capital Fund, Black Coral Capital and West Investments.
