The largest known VC fund commitment in 2025 was $225m – 38% less than the biggest known commitment of the previous year.

Of the 14 most active LPs last year, six were government-backed entities that accounted for 75 of the 138 known commitments to VC funds, according to Venture Capital Journal research.
