Remiges Ventures to raise $150 mln venture-capital fund

Remiges Ventures has set out to raise a $150 million second venture-capital fund, according to a filing with the SEC.

Arrhythmia care company Acutus Medical gathers $170 mln

Carslbad, California-based Acutus Medical, an arrhythmia care company, has secured $100 million in Series D funding and a $70 million credit facility. The Series D investors included 8VC, Opaleye Management, Pura Vida Investments, OrbiMed, Deerfield Management Company, Advent Venture Partners, Xeraya Capital and GE Ventures. OrbiMed Credit and Royalties Fund and Deerfield Management provided the credit facility.

Jumpspeed Ventures wraps up new fund

Jumpspeed Ventures, an Israeli venture firm, has closed its new fund at $17.7 million, according to an announcement on the site. Jumpspeed invests in early-stage startups based in Jerusalem.

Xealth rallies $3 mln

Xealth, a platform for connecting digital health, has secured $3 million in funding. The investors included Atrium Health, Cleveland Clinic, MemorialCare Innovation Fund, McKesson Ventures, Novartis, Philips, ResMed, Threshold Ventures, Providence Ventures, UPMC, Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin health network.

Prevail Therapeutics begins trading on NASDAQ

New York City-based Prevail Therapeutics, a gene therapy company, has gone public after pricing its over 7.3 million shares at $17 per share. The stock began trading June 20, 2019 on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol "PRVL." Morgan Stanley, BofA Merrill Lynch and Cowen are the lead underwriters. Prevail’s pre-IPO backers included OrbiMed, Pontifax Fund, RA Capital Management, EcoR1 Capital, Omega Funds, BVF Partners LP, Boxer Capital LLC, Adage Capital Management LP and Alexandria Venture Investments.

Personalis Inc, a provider of advanced genomics solutions for cancer, has debuted its IPO after pricing its nearly 8 million shares at $17 per share. The stock began trading June 20, 2019 on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol "PSNL." Morgan Stanley, BofA Merrill Lynch and Cowen are the lead underwriters. Personalis' pre-IPO backers included Lightspeed Venture Partners, Abingworth and Mohr Davidow Ventures.

Dawn Capital, an early-stage venture firm, has raised $125 million for its fourth fund, according to Reuters. The Dawn Capital Opportunities Fund targets European B2B tech companies.

Axial Biotherapeutics, a developer of gut-targeted therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases and neurodevelopmental disorders, has secured $10 million in funding. The backer was Taiho Ventures LLC.

Tangen Biosciences lands $9 mln Series A

Branford, Connecticut-based Tangen Biosciences Inc, a molecular diagnostics company, has raised $9 million in Series A funding. Connecticut Innovations led the round with participation from other investors that included VC23, Axiom and Leading Edge Ventures.
