Precursor Ventures has raised $31 million for its second fund, according to an SEC filing. The San Francisco-based venture firm is an early-stage venture firm focused on pre-seed investments in the San Francisco, New York, Toronto and Los Angeles metropolitan regions.

QEAM and R.E. Lee Capital unveil $100 mln hybrid fund

Quantum Energy Asset Management and R.E. Lee International Capital have launched a new $100 million hybrid fund, QEX Fund SP. The fund will focus on fintech startups. Vic Tham, CEO of QEAM, will lead the fund.

OMERS taps ex-CPPIB exec Mark Shulgan to lead new growth-equity strategy

OMERS appointed Mark Shulgan to head the Canadian pension fund’s new growth-equity platform, PE Hub Canada has learned. OMERS announced Shulgan’s hire as a managing director in September, though at the time did not mention the new strategy. He will now run OMERS Growth Equity, recently set up for long-term investing in high-growth companies committed to innovation in sectors like healthcare and tech, according to OMERS’ site. Previously, Shulgan was a senior portfolio manager in Canada Pension Plan Investment Board’s thematic investing group.

Tel Aviv-based Sight Diagnostics Ltd, a provider of diagnostic testing, has raised $10 million in funding. The investor was Longliv Ventures.

Stryker has acquired Menlo Park, California-based Arrinex Inc, a medical device company. No financial terms were disclosed. Arrinex was backed by 7 Gate Ventures.

Rightway Healthcare snags $8 mln Series A

Rightway Healthcare, a New York-based enterprise healthcare platform, has raised $8 million in Series A rounding. The investors were not named. In conjunction with the funding, Jonathan Locker, a participating investor and former partner at Tiger Global Management, has joined Rightway’s board.
