Miracor Medical fetches Series D funding

Miracor Medical, a European medical device firm, has raised 30 million euros in Series D funding. Ming Capital led the round.

Evox Therapeutics procures $45.4 mln Series B

UK-based Evox Therapeutics Ltd, an exosome therapeutics company, has raised $45.4 million in Series B financing. Redmile Group led the round with participation from other investors that included GV, Cowen Healthcare Investments, Panacea Healthcare Venture, Borealis Ventures, Oxford Sciences Innovation and Oxford University.

Otsuka completes Visterra acquisition for about $430 mln

Otsuka has closed its previously announced acquisition of Visterra, a developer of antibody-based therapies for the treatment of patients with kidney diseases and other hard-to-treat diseases, for about $430 million in cash. Visterra's backers included Polaris Partners, Flagship Pioneering, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, MRL Ventures Fund, Vertex Ventures HC, Temasek Holdings, Lux Capital, Alleghany Financial Group Ventures, CTI Life Sciences Fund and Alexandria Equities.

VC-backed Tempest Therapeutics recruits Laport as chief medical officer

Tempest Therapeutics Inc, a biotech company, has named Dr. Ginna Laport as chief medical officer. Previously, she was vice president of clinical development at Corvus Pharmaceuticals. Also, Tempest has promoted Dr. Alicia Levey to chief business officer. Tempest’s backers include Versant Ventures, F-Prime Capital, Quan Capital, Lilly Asia Ventures, Foresite Capital and Eight Roads Ventures.

Jianke snags $130 mln Series B

Jianke, a Chinese online B2C pharmacy and healthcare services platform, has raised $130 million in Series B funding. GTJA Investment Group led the round with participation from HBM Healthcare Investments and Crescent Point.
