FACIT's Prospects Oncology Fund backs three

FACIT's Prospects Oncology Fund has provided seed capital to Ontario-based medical device and new therapeutic platform technologies. The recipients to secure this financing are Xpan Inc, a medical device startup; Dr. Igor Stagljar of the University of Toronto; and the Drug Discovery Program at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research. Xpan Inc is developing surgical access ports that aim to increase safety and efficiency of minimally invasive surgeries. Dr. Stagljar is developing a system for detecting protein-protein interactions in real time for drug discovery applications while OICR's Drug Discovery Program is developing a platform targeting multiple members of the WD40 repeat domain family with small molecules. No financial terms were disclosed.

Newronika lands Series A

Newronika, a spin-off of neurological research centers Policlinico of Milan and University of Milan, has raised 8.4 million euros in Series A funding. Omnes led the round.

Irish medical tech firm Neuromod inks funding

Neuromod, an Irish medical technology company, has raised 8 million euros in funding. Fountain Healthcare Partners led the round.

UK home care provider startup Lifted grabs funding

London-based Lifted, a home care provider startup, has raised 1.5 million pounds in seed funding. The business was founded by Zero 1, a corporate venture builder.

Silicon Valley-based Eko, a digital health company, has secured $20 million in Series B funding. ARTIS Ventures led the round.

Healthcare tech firm Cured nabs $2.5 mln

Healthcare tech company Cured has secured $2.5 million in funding. Waterline Ventures led the round with participation from High Alpha Capital and Matchstick Ventures.
