Filld lands $15 mln Series B

Filld, the last mile mobile fueling company, has raised $15 million in Series B funding. Parkland Fuel Corporation and Calibrate Ventures led the round with participation from investors that included Cendana Capital, Lucas Venture Group, Javelin Venture Partners and Hallador Investment Advisors.

Stoke Therapeutics inks $90 mln Series B

Bedford, Massachusetts-based Stoke Therapeutics, a biotech firm, has raised $90 million in Series B financing. RTW Investments led the round with participation from other investors that included Apple Tree Partners, RA Capital Management, Cormorant Asset Management, Perceptive Advisors, funds managed by Janus Henderson Investors, Redmile Group, Sphera Funds Management and Alexandria Venture Investments.

Finn AI nabs $14 mln in Yaletown and Flying Fish-led Series A

Finn AI, a Vancouver-based conversational artificial intelligence platform for financial services, has raised $14 million in a Series A financing. The round was led by Yaletown Partners and Flying Fish Partners, which also led Finn AI's debut deal last year. They were joined by BDC Capital’s Women in Technology Fund and 1843 Capital as well as angel investors. Comerica Bank supplied lending facilities. Founded in 2014 by CEO Jake Tyler, COO Natalie Cartwright and CTO Guru Atlu, Finn AI provides an AI-enabled virtual assistant for personal banking and finance. The funds raised will be used for the company's continued growth in North America and Europe, enhancing its enterprise tooling, and extending its product to support additional capabilities.

ForgePoint taps Bio as VP

ForgePoint Capital, a venture firm focused on cybersecurity companies, has named Ernie Bio as a vice president. Previously, Bio was a chief operating officer of Defense Innovation Unit, a Silicon Valley-based government startup.

Crypto social network Minds Inc pulls in $6 mln Series A

Minds Inc, a crypto social network, has raised $6 million in Series A funding. The investor was Medici Ventures, a blockchain subsidiary of Overstock.com. In addition to the funding, Patrick M. Byrne, founder and CEO of Overstock.com, will join Minds' board of directors.

Toba Capital leads Series A round for Wallarm

South San Francisco-based Wallarm, a provider of AI-powered application security, has secured $8 million in Series A funding. Toba Capital led the round with participation from Y Combinator, Partech and Gagarin Capital.

Stray Dog collects $23.7 mln for sophomore fund

Stray Dog Capital has raised $23.7 million for its second fund, according to an SEC filing. No target was listed on the document. Based in Leawood, Kansas, Stray Dog invests in early-stage businesses.

TIMIA Capital makes Real Savvy its first U.S. tech investment

Canadian specialty finance firm TIMIA Capital Corp has provided a US$2.5 million facility to Real Savvy Inc, an Austin, Texas-based real estate software company. TIMIA, a provider of revenue-based financing to technology companies, will deploy an initial US$1 million, followed by a further US$1.5 million when certain milestones are met. Founded in 2014, Real Savvy develops custom websites and apps for brokers and agents that enable collaborations with buyers in home searches. TIMIA said the investment is its first in the United States.

Qpex Biopharma nabs $33 mln Series A

Qpex Biopharma, a developer of antiobiotics, has raised $33 million in Series A financing. New Enterprise Associates led the round with participation from Adams Street Partners, LYZZ Capital, Hatteras Venture Partners and Stanford University Draper Fund.

Fisker grabs funding from Caterpillar Venture Capital

California-based Fisker Inc, a developer of electric vehicles and battery technologies, has secured an undisclosed amount of funding. The investor was Caterpillar Venture Capital Inc., a subsidiary of Caterpillar Inc.
