Audius raises $5.5 mln from General Catalyst, Lightspeed, Kleiner Perkins, Pantera Capital, 122West, Ascolta Ventures

Audius said it raised $5.5 million of Series A capital in a round led by General Catalyst and Lightspeed Venture Partners, and joined by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byer, Pantera Capital, 122West and Ascolta Ventures.

PFL picks up $28 mln Series B

The Professional Fighters League, a mixed martial arts league, has secured $28 million in Series B funding. The investors included Elysian Park Ventures, SWaN Ventures, Kevin Hart, Mark Burnett, Tony Robbins and Ted Leonsis.

Sagewise, a tech company focused on resolving disputes involving smart contracts, has raised $1.25 million in seed funding. Wavemaker Genesis led the round.

New York-based Dynamic Yield, an AI-powered omnichannel personalization engine, has secured $32 million in Series D funding. Viola Growth led the round with participation from Union Tech Ventures.

Actifio rakes in $100 mln

Actifio, an enterprise data-as-a-service software provider, has raised $100 million in financing. Crestline Investors led the round with participation from other investors that included North Bridge Venture Partners, 83North, Advanced Technology Ventures, Heritage Group and Andreessen Horowitz.

Pivotal bioVenture Partners, a life sciences venture firm, has appointed Dr. Heather Preston as a managing partner. Previously, Preston worked at TPG Biotech where she was a firm partner and managing director. Pivotal is backed by the Nan Fung Group.

Crescent Crypto Asset Management, a cryptocurrency index fund manager led by Goldman Sachs alumni, has raised an undisclosed amount of Series A financing. FBG Capital led the round.

iS5Com closes C$22 mln round led by Phoenix Contact’s VC fund

IS5 Communications Inc, a Toronto-based provider of cyber-secure industrial platforms, has closed C$22 million financing. The deal was led by Phoenix Contact Innovation Ventures, the venture capital arm of Germany’s Phoenix Contact Group, and joined by U.S. venture capital firm ClearSky and other investors. Representatives of Phoenix and ClearSky have joined the board. Founded in 2012 by President and CEO Clive Dias, iS5Com provides integrated services and solutions, and makes intelligent industrial Ethernet products, for a range of sectors.

Good Catch inks $8.7 mln Series A

Good Catch, a food tech brand, has secured $8.7 million in Series A funding. The investors included New Crop Capital, Stray Dog Capital, Clear Current Capital, VegInvest, Rocana Capital, Blue Horizon, EverHope Capital, Baleine & Bjorn Capital, M13 and Starlight Ventures.

Maveron promotes Anarghya Vardhana to partner

Consumer-focused investor Maveron has promoted Anarghya Vardhana to partner. Vardhana was most recently a principal, having joined the firm in 2015, according to her bio on the firm's website. She has worked for several startups in product management and operations roles, including at the healthcare company Medable. She also was previously at Rothenberg Ventures. For Maveron, she is a board observer at Booster Fuels, Inkbox, Pluto, The Guild and two unannounced companies.
