Clubessential, which is backed by Battery Ventures, has acquired Rockville, Maryland-based PrestoSports Inc, a provider of athletic content management software to colleges and conference offices. No financial terms were disclosed.

Medford, Massachusetts-based Silk Therapeutics Inc, a specialty biomaterials company, has raised $11 million in financing. The round's investors were Jeff Vinik, the former manager of Fidelity's Magellan Fund and owner of the Tampa Bay Lightning; the Kraft Group; Roy P. Disney; Lear Corporation; and Altman Health Investments.

Enevo, a Finnish waste services provider, has secured $12 million in funding. Lifeline Ventures led the round.

Zucker to leave j2 Global to become co-managing principal at OCV Management

Nehemia Zucker, the CEO of j2 Global Inc, will be leaving his post to become co-managing principal at OCV Management, a Los Angeles-based investment adviser co-founded by Richard Ressler, j2's board chairman. Zucker's appointment becomes effective January 1, 2018. Vivek Shah will succeed Zucker as CEO of j2.

Lightspeed leads Series B round for BuildingConnected

San Francisco-based BuildingConnected, a preconstruction platform for general contractors, subcontractors and owners, has raised $22 million in Series B funding. Lightspeed Venture Partners led the round with participation from other investors that included Crosslink Capital, Homebrew, Freestyle, Bee Partners and Brick & Mortar.

France-based LNC Therapeutics, which focuses on treating obesity and associated cardiometabolic diseases, has secured 6.5 million euros in Series C funding. The investors included Seventure Partners.
