Cygilant ropes in $7 mln

Boston-based Cygilant, formerly known as EiQ Networks, a provider of hybrid SaaS security services, has secured $7 million in funding. Arrowroot Capital led the round.

Car insurance comparison marketplace The Zebra racks up $40 mln

Austin, Texas-based The Zebra, an auto insurance comparison marketplace, has raised $40 million in Series B funding. Accel Partners led the round. Also, The Zebra has named Keith Melnick, former president of Kayak, as CEO.

Wevo locks in $1.6 mln seed

Boston-based Wevo, an artificial intelligence and crowdsourcing technology startup, has raised $1.6 million in seed funding. The investors included Will Graylin of Samsung Pay, Frank Moss, former director of the MIT Media Lab, Tom Rutledge, head of fixed income at Magnetar Capital and Udi Mokady, chairman and CEO of CyberArk.

Highland Europe beefs up team with new hire

Highland Europe has named Gajan Rajanathan as a principal. His work background includes stints at Qatalyst Partners and at Credit Suisse’s M&A group in New York.

Younited Credit secures $47.9 mln

Younited Credit, an online consumer lending platform in Europe, has raised 40 million euros ($47.9 million) in funding. The investors included Eurazeo, Crédit Mutuel Arkéa, AG2R La Mondiale, Weber Investissements, Bpifrance, Matmut Innovation and Zencap Asset Management.

Capsule8 pulls in $6 mln Series A

Brooklyn, New York-based Capsule8, a cybersecurity startup, has closed $6 million in Series A funding. Bessemer Venture Partners led the round. In addition to the funding, ClearSky Security Managing Director Jay Leek has joined Capsule8's board of directors.

The Moms Co bags $1 mln Series A

India-based The Moms Co, a mom and baby care consumer goods startup, has secured $1 million in Series A funding. DSG Consumer Partners and Saama Capital led the round.

TalkIQ nabs $14 mln Series A

San Francisco-based TalkIQ, a voice-to-text transcription engine and AI-driven analytics platform provider, has raised $14 million in Series A funding. Scale Venture Partners led the round with participation from Aspect Ventures, Danhua Capital, Felicis Ventures, LINE Corp and Salesforce Ventures. Concurrent with the funding, Rory O’Driscoll, managing partner at Scale Venture Partners, has joined TalkIQ's board.

Evident takes in $8.8 mln Series A

Atlanta-based Evident, a newly launched cybersecurity solution for managing and sharing personal data, has raised $8.8 million in Series A financing. New Enterprise Associates led the round.

Shortlist picks up $1 mln seed

Shortlist, an employment tech startup in India and East Africa, has secured $1 million in seed funding. The investors included University Ventures, Samir Shah of Sattva Capital, Zephyr Acorn and Bodley Group.
