Mithril alums James J.D. Vance and Colin Greenspon have co-founded a new venture firm called Narya Capital and have already raised $93 million toward a target of $125 million.

Singapore-based EV Growth announced it has hit the hard cap of its first fund at $250 million, exceeding its $150 million target.The firm launched in March 2018 as a joint venture between East Ventures, SMDV and Yahoo! Japan Capital.

The State Investment Council increases VC allocation with hopes of boosting state's entrepreneurial economy. It expects to commit between $75 mln and $125 mln to VC in 2020.

The early-stage firm also raised $300 mln for its previous fund.

With $30 mln in recent commitments, the pension has now deployed $135 mln to venture this year.

The firm closed on $100 mln for its third fund, its largest to date.

The San Francisco firm has one LP, the Malaysia energy giant PETRONAS. But Ricardo Angel, CEO and managing partner of Piva, says the venture firm will operate independently.

Nine emerging fund managers raised $313.5 million during the two-week period of Nov. 6 through Nov. 19; year to date, new managers have raised a combined $19.5 billion.

The Austin firm now has more capital to invest in high-growth, less capital-intensive tech companies based away from the coasts.
