Industry Ventures beefs up team with three new hires

Industry Ventures LLC has named Nate Leung as vice president, Justine Huang as associate and Christopher Hipple as an accounting manager. Leung's work experiences includes a stint as an investment analyst at Bain Capital Ventures while Huang previously worked at Goldman Sachs where she was an equity research analyst. And Hipple was a former fund controller for Standish Management.

Skypoint Ventures expands team with new addition

Skypoint Ventures LLC has hired David Ollila as vice president of innovation. He is the founding director of Invent@NMU, a program at Northern Michigan University, where he helped many inventors launch their products from idea to market.

Mercury Fund adds marketing coordinator

Houston-based, early-stage venture firm Mercury Fund announced Jackie Pfister has joined the team as marketing coordinator. It is the first marketing hire for Mercury. Pfister will support the firm in its marketing and branding efforts and work with portfolio companies in their branding, marketing and PR efforts. Pfister was previously a business analyst at Trenegy, a Houston-based management consulting firm.

GV Chief Executive Bill Maris quits: Reuters

Bill Maris, the chief executive and founder of Alphabet Inc's venture arm GV, is leaving the company, Recode reported, citing sources. Maris, who leaves on Aug. 12, will be replaced by GV Managing Partner David Krane.

Triantos joins Ignition Partners from SRI

Ignition Partners, which last year raised a $200 million sixth fund to invest in enterprise software, announced it has added Nick Triantos as a venture partner. Triantos, 35, will work out of the firm's Los Altos, California-based office. He says he will focus on enterprise software deals that incorporate artificial intelligence, machine learning, virtual reality/augmented reality and cybersecurity.

VC-backed Pond5 hires Teichman as CEO

Pond5, a stock video marketplace for producers and creative professionals, has named Jason Teichman as CEO. Previously, Teichman, who is also joining the company's board of directors, worked at Web.com Group where he served as a chief operating officer. Pond5 is backed by Accel Partners and Stripes Group.

NEA's Sandell joins Robinhood board

Palo Alto, California-based Robinhood, a provider of a stock trading app, announced in a blog post that New Enterprise Associates General Partner Scott Sandell has joined the company board.

London-based Eight Roads Ventures has appointed Michael Treskow as a partner. He will focus on fintech, enterprise software and mobile businesses.

VC-backed Kateeva hires marketing VP

Newark, California-based Kateeva, a production equipment provider for makers of advanced electronics technologies, has named Dr. Jeff Hebb as vice president of marketing. Previously, he worked at Applied Materials. Kateeva's backers include Cybernaut Venture, GP Capital Shanghai, Redview Capital and TCL Capital.
