VC-backed Blend Therapeutics appoints Fromkin as president and CEO

Watertown, Massachusetts-based Blend Therapeutics Inc, a biopharmaceutical company focused on treating patients with solid tumor cancers, has named Drew Fromkin as president, CEO and a member of the company’s board of directors. Previously, Fromkin worked at Clinical Data Inc where he served as President and CEO. Blend Therapeutics' backers include Eminent Venture Capital, Flagship Ventures, NanoDimension and New Enterprise Associates.

Hoffman joins OpenView Venture Partners as a senior advisor

OpenView Venture Partners said Monday that Jeff Hoffman has joined as a Senior advisor. Hoffman, who is on the faculty at Cornell University's Johnson School of Management, has consulted for numerous high-growth technology companies and regularly speaks to Fortune 500 audiences.

VC-backed Retrofit appoints Goldman as VP of marketing and product management

Chicago-based weight loss solutions provider Retrofit has named Julie Newhouse Goldman as vice president of marketing and product management. Goldman is the former senior director, global brand strategy and leader of global wellness for the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company. Retrofit's backers included Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Cambia Health Solutions.

Global Fashion Group hires ex-Amazon.com exec as CEO-Reuters

Global Fashion Group (GFG), formed out of five Kinnevik- and Rocket Internet- backed online fashion start-ups active across dozens of emerging markets, has hired the former head of Amazon France as its new chief executive, Reuters reported.

Vij named CEO of GlobalOutlook

GlobalOutlook Inc. said Wednesday that Rajeev Vij was named CEO while Brett Coover joined as Chief Technology Officer effective immediately. Rajeev joins GlobalOutlook from Microsoft, where he spent six years as Director, Hosting Service Provider business at Microsoft India. Brett joins GlobalOutlook from Intellys where he was CTO. GlobalOutlook is a portfolio company of Naya Ventures.

Salomon named CFO of Cherwell Software

Cherwell Software said Wednesday that Elizabeth Salomon has joined as CFO. Most recently, Ms. Salomon was CFO at Marshall &Swift/Boeckh and its holding company Decision Insight Information Group . Cherwell is backed by Insight Venture Partners.

Ameet Shah, Bert Amato join team at Golden Venture Partners

Canadian venture capital firm Golden Venture Partners, which late last year closed its second fund, Golden Venture Partners II, at $40 million, has added two new partners. They are: Ameet Shah, who joins the firm as a partner, and Bert Amato, who joins as a venture partner. Both Shah and Amato have previously been active as entrepreneurs and angel investors. Based in Toronto, Golden Venture Partners is a seed-stage investor in mobile technologies.

Matt Murphy plans to resign as partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, the WSJ reported on Monday.

Andy Rubin joins Redpoint, raises $48 mln for his Playground incubator

Andy Rubin, co-founder of Android, has joined Redpoint Ventures as a venture partner, the firm said in a blog post. Redpoint also invested in Rubin's new hardware incubator Playground.

IVP adds two to its investment team

Institutional Venture Partners announced two new additions to its investment team. Roseanne Wincek joins IVP as a vice president and will focus on investing in later-stage, high-growth consumer and enterprise companies. She previously was a principal at Canaan Partners. Also, Alexander Lim joins IVP as an associate and will focus on identifying and evaluating later-stage enterprise software, Internet and mobile investments. Prior to IVP, Lim worked at Credit Suisse.
