Mickie Rosen has joined Velocity Interactive Group as an investment partner. She has spent the past several months consulting for Velocity, and previously was with Fox Interactive Media as senior vice president and general manager of entertainment. Velocity is currently raising its first fund since forming late last year, although it still has some dry powder left from its prior incarnation as ComVentures.

Two weeks ago, Julius Genachowski co-authored a guest post for peHUB, arguing that venture capitalists should support Barack Obama for president. Today, Obama tapped Genachowski to be part of his presidential transition team. Eric Fitzgerald has joined the venture capital investment unit of MetLife. He previously was a partner in the fund-of-funds group of Thomas Weisel Partners, and before that was with Liberty Mutual. MetLife plans to invest $100 million each year in venture capital and growth equity partnerships.
