AES and AIMCo buys sPower from Fir Tree for about $1.6 bln

AES Corp and Alberta Investment Management Corp has acquired sPower, an owner, operator and developer of utility scale solar assets in the U.S. The seller was Fir Tree Partners. The price was about $1.6 billion.
