Access Capital Partners expands into Germany(2)

The European private equity fund of funds specialist is opening an office in Munich with two partners, co-founders of Stratin Capital Advisors.

Access Capital Partners, a fund of funds manager, has strengthened its European presence with a new office in Germany and hired two partners.

Bernhard Fink will head the Munich office. Thomas Kohlmeyer is also joining the firm as partner, taking the total number of partners to five.

Fink has more than 30 years experience in the global insurance and finance sector including private equity asset allocation. He spent 10 years with the Gerling Group of insurance companies as a member of the executive board of management. Before joining Access Capital, Bernhard co-founded Stratin Capital Advisors, an independent German alternative investment advisor.

Kohlmeyer has 11 years of private equity experience in fund and direct investment activities. He co-founded Stratin Capital Advisors with Fink. Before, he was a partner at Extorel, an independent fund of funds and family office in Germany.

The local presence will also allow Access to foster relationships with its growing German investor base and develop new client relationships in the country, it said.

Established in 1999 as an independent private equity fund management company, Access Capital Partners currently manages €1.4 billion ($1.8 billion) of assets through its commingled fund of funds vehicles and single-client mandates. The firm focuses exclusively in Europe, with separate mid-market buy-out and technology funds of funds.
