Apollo plans $1.5b Euronext listing

Following KKR’s lead, the New York-based firm is reportedly raising a vehicle to be publicly traded on the Euronext Amsterdam exchange.

News reports today cited sources close to the firm as saying that Apollo Management is seeking about $1.5 billion for an investment fund to be publicly traded on the Euronext Amsterdam exchange.

The fund would be similar to the one raised by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts. On May 3, KKR Private Equity Investors LP was listed on Euronext Amsterdam after raising $5 billion in a private placement.

According to the reports, Apollo is raising the money as a private placement, and plans to list the securities in the next two weeks.

Two years ago Apollo sold $930 million of shares in Apollo Investment Corp., a debt securities fund whose stock has risen 36 percent since then.

Shares of KKR Private Equity Investors LP are down 4.7 percent since they started trading May 2 in Amsterdam.
