BGI-Shenzhen has acquired Nasdaq-listed Complete Genomics via an all cash tender offer, followed by a short form merger. The deal closed on March 18, 2013. It has been reported as the first time a Chinese company has successfully acquired a US public company. O’Melveny & Myers represented BGI-Shenzhen.

The National Football League and Providence Equity Partners have formed a global strategic partnership to invest primarily in sports and entertainment-related media assets. The NFL and Providence will each commit equity to the partnership and operate it jointly, leveraging the NFL and Providence’s media expertise. The partnership will target growth equity investments of approximately $25 to $50 million in private companies around the world and have the capacity to make larger investments as needed.

A consortium comprising developer AIG/Lincoln, Russian investment bank VTB Capital and global private investment firm TPG Holdings and the investment company O1 Properties have completed an investment transaction involving White Square, a class A office centre in Moscow. The seller consortium was advised by Jones Lang LaSalle and CBRE. The acquisition and its financing was arranged by O1 Properties with Sberbank CIB.

Cinven and Warburg Pincus are planning to further reduce their stake in Ziggo. They intend to sell around 40 million ordinary shares in Ziggo N.V. via an accelerated bookbuild resulting in a stake of approximately 17.1 percent in the Dutch provider of entertainment, information and communication.

German Equity Partners IV, a fund managed by the independent German private equity firm ECM Equity Capital Management has acquired all of the shares in Bergmann Automotive GmbH. The management team at Bergmann Automotive has also acquired a stake in the company through the transaction. Ziggo is to acquire Esprit Telecom, a provider of voice and data services for the SME market in the Netherlands. The acquisition includes Zoranet, an ICT service provider that focuses on the retail sector. The acquisition is valued at 18 million euros ($23.3 million).
