UK-based Panoramic Growth Equity has sold its renewable energy distribution specialist business, Solfex Energy Systems to Travis Perkins. The sale represents the first exit from the Panoramic Enterprise Capital Fund I, which held its final close in September 2010 and was oversubscribed at 34 million pounds ($54 million).

European focused vehicles make up half of this week’s scorecard, which takes a look at the $251 billion California Public Employees’ Retirement System’s top ten investments in first-time buyout funds. Schroder Ventures’s spin-out Permira takes the top spot with its maiden independent vehicle, Permira Europe I, raised in 1997, which posted an IRR of 74.5 percent and investment multiple of 2.6x, according to CalPERS private equity investment performance figures as of June 30, 2012.

Siparex has announced the equity restructuring of Malherbe group, a French five lot and consolidated shipment company. The company’s management, headed by chairman Alain Samson, will be the majority owner, alongside a new group of financial investors comprising Siparex, CDC Entreprises (investing under the FSI France Investissement program), UNEXO, Socadif, and NCI. The fund Siparex MidMarket III is making its debut investment on this deal, in which NiXEN Partners is selling its stake.
