Based in Tempe, Arizona, CRA is a trial management organization that provides Phase II - IV clinical trials management services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

Salus Capital Partners has backed HMX Group, a designer, manufacturer, and marketer of men’s and women’s business and leisure apparel. The financing will be used by HMX Group to provide working capital as the company operates under Chapter 11 of the US Bankruptcy Code.

MCG Capital Corporation has closed a $20 million investment in Midwest Technical Institute. MCG’s investment consists of a senior secured unitranche credit facility and revolving line of credit. MTI is a private, post-secondary school with five campuses across Illinois and Mississippi. MCG’s investment is made in conjunction with the recapitalization of MTI by Summer Street Capital.

Berkshire-based Kerridge Commercial Systems, specialising in business management solutions to the distributive industry, has acquired Tyne and Wear-based Datawright, a provider of material requirements planning solutions specifically designed for the manufacturing sector. This is KCS’ second acquisition since completing the original management buyout with financing from NVM Private Equity back in 2010.

Gottex Brokers has opened its first office in the US, focusing on brokerage services in the secondary market for alternative investments through its specialized entity Gottex Brokers Alternative USA. Gottex Brokers Alternative USA, based in Los Angeles, will act as an intermediary between US institutional investors buying and selling secondary interests in hedge funds, private equity funds and real estate funds.

Asset management firm Baird has appointed Jonathan Bourn as a managing director in its European investment banking team in London. JCDecaux SA, a global outdoor advertising is to acquire 25 percent of Russ Outdoor, a Russian outdoor advertising company in Russia, pending the required anti-monopoly approvals. As part of the transaction, JCDecaux will contribute its Russian assets from BigBoard to Russ Outdoor. Russ Outdoor was acquired in 2011 by a consortium of investors led by VTB Capital Private Equity.
