Onex Credit Partners LLC, the credit investment arm of Canadian private equity firm Onex Corp, has priced its eighth collateralized loan obligation (CLO) offering at US$764 million of securities in a private placement transaction. Onex purchased a majority of the equity in the deal. Upon the close of the offering, Onex Credit Partners will manage more than US$5.5 billion in senior secured loans and high yield bonds in a variety of strategies.

Neptune-Benson Inc, a portfolio company of U.S. private equity firm Audax Group, has acquired Sonitec Vortisand Inc, a Montréal-based manufacturer of submicron automatic sand filtration products serving the industrial process water treatment market. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Neptune-Benson, a supplier to aquatics, industrial and municipal markets, said the acquisition will expand its products portfolio. Headquartered in Coventry, Rhode Island, the company received an equity investment from Audax in August 2011.

U.S. private equity firm Riverstone Holdings has agreed to commit up to US$300 million to Meritage Midstream Services III LP, a platform partnership focused on midstream deal opportunities in Western Canada's emerging resource plays. Riverstone will begin with an initial US$100 million commitment to the partnership, which plans to create a leading Western Canadian midstream company that is able to facilitate the delivery of hydrocarbon products to markets. Riverstone completed a number of energy deals in Canada last year, including a $675 million equity investment in Calgary's Canadian Non-Operated Resources LP, which the firm led.
