Modulus Discovery snags $7.2 mln Series A

Tokyo-based Modulus Discovery Inc, an early-stage drug discovery company, has secured about $7.2 million in Series A funding. Fast Track Initiative Inc led the round with participation from PeptiDream Inc and DBJ Capital Co. Ltd, the venture capital subsidiary of Development Bank of Japan.

Akili Interactive nabs $13 mln

Boston and San Francisco Bay Area-based Akili Interactive, a prescription digital medicine company, has secured $13 million in funding. The investors included CLSA, Omidyar Technology Ventures, Digital Garage Group and Fearless Ventures.

DNAlite Therapeutics fetches $1.5 mln

DNAlite Therapeutics Inc, an gastrointestinal gene therapy biotech startup, has raised $1.5 million in seed financing. Berkeley Catalyst Fund led the round with participation from University of California Berkeley, Blue Bear Ventures, SOSV, the Baldota family, BrightGene and SVE Capital.

Spark Neuro collects $13.5 mln Series A

New York City-based Spark Neuro, a research firm that evaluates audience engagement in advertising and entertainment, has secured $13.5 million Series A financing. Thiel Capital led the round with participation from actor/producer Will Smith and Michael Eisner's Tornante Company.

PFL picks up $28 mln Series B

The Professional Fighters League, a mixed martial arts league, has secured $28 million in Series B funding. The investors included Elysian Park Ventures, SWaN Ventures, Kevin Hart, Mark Burnett, Tony Robbins and Ted Leonsis.

Sagewise lands $1.25 mln seed

Sagewise, a tech company focused on resolving disputes involving smart contracts, has raised $1.25 million in seed funding. Wavemaker Genesis led the round.

Dynamic Yield nabs $32 mln Series D

New York-based Dynamic Yield, an AI-powered omnichannel personalization engine, has secured $32 million in Series D funding. Viola Growth led the round with participation from Union Tech Ventures.

Actifio rakes in $100 mln

Actifio, an enterprise data-as-a-service software provider, has raised $100 million in financing. Crestline Investors led the round with participation from other investors that included North Bridge Venture Partners, 83North, Advanced Technology Ventures, Heritage Group and Andreessen Horowitz.

Pivotal bioVenture Partners, a life sciences venture firm, has appointed Dr. Heather Preston as a managing partner. Previously, Preston worked at TPG Biotech where she was a firm partner and managing director. Pivotal is backed by the Nan Fung Group.

Crescent Crypto Asset Management, a cryptocurrency index fund manager led by Goldman Sachs alumni, has raised an undisclosed amount of Series A financing. FBG Capital led the round.
