Upskill grabs Series B funds

Upskill (formerly APX Labs), a provider of enterprise software for industrial augmented reality wearables, has raised an undisclosed amount of Series B funding. The investors included Boeing, GE Ventures, New Enterprise Associates and SineWave Ventures.

Street Contxt rakes in $15 mln

Toronto and New York City-based Street Contxt, a fintech company that helps brokerages, independent research providers, and asset managers distribute, manage, unbundle and value research, has raised an overall funding tally of $15 million. Street Contxt's investors include Joe Lonsdale of 8VC, Point72 Ventures, Palm Drive Capital and Portag3 Ventures LP.

Azitra takes in $2.9 mln Series A

Farmington, Connecticut-based Azitra Inc, a biotech company that focuses on treating skin diseases, has secured $2.9 million in Series A funding. Bios Partner led the round.

TechAccel hires one as chief science officer and another as chief administrative officer

TechAccel has appointed Dr. Brad Fabbri as chief science officer and Lyla Perrodin as chief administrative officer/chief-of-staff. Fabbri is a a former Monsanto Science Fellow while Perrodin is a former chief information officer of MRIGlobal.

Armor inks $89 mln

Texas and UK-based Armor, a secure cloud company, has raised $89 million in funding. ST Telemedia was the lead investor.

Portworx nabs $20 mln Series B

Los Altos, California-based Portworx, a provider of container data services for DevOps, has raised $20 million in Series B funding. Sapphire Ventures led the round with with participation from other investors that included GE Ventures and Mayfield.

Credo Ventures backs Romanian travel tech company DCS Plus

DCS Plus, a Romanian travel tech company, has raised a total of $6.2 million in funding. The company's investors include Credo Ventures.

DCVC and SynBioBeta roll out pre-seed and seed fund

Data Collective has teamed up with Dr. John Cumbers, founder of SynBioBeta, to launch a pre-seed and seed venture fund that will back synthetic biology startups. No financial terms were disclosed.

Groundspeed Analytics picks up $2 mln Series A

Ann Arbor, Michigan-based Groundspeed Analytics, a commercial insurance data automation firm, has closed $2 million in Series A financing. ManchesterStory Group led the round with participation from Michigan Angel Fund and Tappan Hill Ventures.

Event success platform Bizzabo lands $6.5 mln Series A

New York and Israel-based Bizzabo, an event success platform, has secured $6.5 million in Series A funding. The lead investors were Zvi Limon, co-founder of Magma Ventures, Avigdor Willenz, founder of Annapurna Labs and Galileo Technology and angel investor Danny Tocatly.
