Itzik Parnafes will become a general partner with Battery Ventures, effective immediately, the firm announced. Based in Battery’s Israel office, Itzik leads the firm’s infrastructure practice, focusing on tech verticals. He joined the firm as a partner in 2009 and was an EIR in Battery’s Israel office prior to that.

Perrigo Co., the listed, Michigan-based healthcare products provider, is acquiring substantially all of the assets of Sergeant’s Pet Care Products, a private, Nebraska-based of animal healthcare products. The deal is worth $285 million, Perrigo stated. Jefferies & Company acted as advisor to the buyer.

iWalk, the Massachusetts-based personal bionics company, closed a $17 million round of financing led by new investor Gilde Healthcare Partners, and including existing backers General Catalyst Partners, Sigma Partners and WFD Ventures.
