Pantheon announces promotions; Richards, Dunwoodie become partners

Pantheon said Dec. 19 that Imogen Richards, global head of investment structuring and strategy in London, was made a partner, while Kevin Dunwoodie, of the secondaries investment team in San Francisco, was also named partner. Robin Bailey, a partner, was appointed chief operating officer. Pantheon also unveiled another 42 promotions.

Gryphon Investors buys majority of Nolan Transportation Group

Gryphon Investors said Dec. 18 that it acquired a majority stake in Nolan Transportation Group. Financial terms weren’t announced. Gryphon portfolio company, Transportation Insight, also invested. Senior management at Nolan Transportation, including founder and chairman Kevin Nolan and CEO Harold Baron, will retain a stake. Nolan Transportation, of Atlanta, is a non-asset freight brokerage. Harris Williams was financial adviser, and Evershed Sutherland LLP was legal adviser to NTG. Sheppard Mullin acted as TI and Gryphon’s legal adviser, while North Inlet served as financial adviser.

Ridgemont Equity Partners Fund III raises $1.65 bln

Ridgemont Equity Partners said Dec. 18 that it closed its latest flagship on $1.65 billion in commitments. The target for Ridgemont Equity Partners III LP was $1.25 billion. REP III will invest in business and industrial services, energy, healthcare, and technology and telecommunications. Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC served as placement agent, while Proskauer Rose acted as fund formation counsel for REP III.

CVC to buy minority of Premiership Rugby for 225 mln pounds: Financial Times

CVC Capital Partners is near buying a minority stake in Premiership Rugby, holding company behind elite English rugby, for 225 million pounds ($285.6 million), the Financial Times is reporting. A deal could be announced this week, the FT said.

General Atlantic invests in Invoice Cloud

General Atlantic is investing in Invoice Cloud Inc and will have a majority stake. Financial terms weren’t announced. Invoice Cloud, of Braintree, Massachusetts, provides cloud-based customer engagement and electronic payment processing capabilities to more than 25,000 clients in the government, utilities, health & wellness, non-profit, and financial services sectors. Raymond James & Associates served as financial advisor to Invoice Cloud.

Spectrum Equity invests in DataCamp

Spectrum Equity has invested in DataCamp. Financial terms weren’t announced. Existing investors Accomplice and Arthur Ventures are also investing. DataCamp, of New York, is a data science and analytics learning platform.

Carlyle nears $5 bln buy of StandardAero Aviation: Wall Street Journal

Carlyle Group is near a deal to buy StandardAero Aviation Holdings Inc for about $5 billion, the Wall Street Journal is reporting. Final bids were due Sunday night. Carlyle beat a rival offer from Blackstone Group for StandardAero, which operates repair stations for Boeing Co and Airbus SE, the story said.

Bregal Milestone invests in Greenstorm

Bregal Milestone said Dec. 18 it invested in Greenstorm. Financial terms weren’t announced but Bregal Milestone’s commitments typically range from 20 million euros ($22.8 million) to 60 million euros ($68.4 million). Greenstorm, which has locations in Austria, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Croatia and Slovenia, provides e-mobility services to nearly 1,000 hotels, corporates and retailers in central Europe.

FTV Capital leads Egress $40 mln round

Egress said Dec. 18 that it has raised $40 million in Series C funding led by FTV Capital. Existing investor AlbionVC also participated. Egress provides data privacy and compliance software.
