The Sterling Group said Thursday it completed the sale of Liqui-Box to Olympus Partners. Financial terms weren’t announced. Richmond, Virginia-based Liqui-Box designs and supplies liquid packaging systems for the dairy, beverage, food, and wine industries. Sterling acquired the business from DuPont in 2011. PE HUB reported news of the sale last month. Harris Williams advised Liqui-Box/Sterling.

CCMP Capital Advisors LLC said Thursday it has agreed to buy a controlling stake in Shoes For Crews. Financial terms weren’t announced. The company’s founders, the Smith family, are rolling over a portion of their equity. West Palm Beach, Florida-based Shoes For Crews produces slip-resistant footwear.

The Blackstone Group said Thursday that its latest global real estate fund closed at $15.8 billion. Blackstone Real Estate Partners VIII is already 20 percent committed. Blackstone currently has two regional opportunistic real estate funds, the $8.2 billion Blackstone Real Estate Partners Europe IV and the $5 billion Blackstone Real Estate Partners Asia.

Encycle Therapeutics Inc. said Wednesday it raised C$2.85 million (US$2.1 million) in financing led by Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. through its venture capital arm, Takeda Ventures Inc. Also participating were Accel-Rx Health Sciences Accelerator, BDC Capital and MaRS Investment Accelerator Fund. Encycle, a University of Toronto spin-off, is a drug discovery company.

American Industrial Partners said Wednesday that it closed its sixth fund at its $1.8 billion hard cap. Fund VI will seek to make equity and debt investments in North American-headquartered industrial companies with sales greater than $75 million. Acalyx Advisors acted as lead placement agent, while MVision Private Equity Advisers acted as strategic fundraising advisor on selected LPs in the Middle East and Asia.

Dallas-based Pearl, an energy private equity firm, focuses on investments in the oil and gas production, midstream, and services sectors.
