H.I.G. Capital LLC said Thursday that it has invested in United States Medical Supply Inc. (US Med) Inc. via a recapitalization. Financial terms weren’t announced. Miami-based US Med is a national provider of mail-order medical supplies.

Wulchin steps down as FreeWave's President

FreeWave Technologies, a portfolio company of TA Associates, said Wednesday that Co-founder Steve Wulchin is leaving his role as President of the company. Wulchin will remain the company's single largest shareholder and will continue to be actively involved as a Board Member.

Sovrn Holdings has closed an $18 million funding round led by the Foundry Group. Existing investors Oak Investment Partners, Archer Venture Acquisitions and John Battelle also participated. Boulder, Colorado-based sovrn provides tools and services to publishers.

AlienVault said Wednesday that it raised $52 million in a Series E funding round led by Institutional Venture Partners. Existing investors, including Trident Capital, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and GGV Capital, also participated. San Mateo, California-based AlienVault provides unified security management and actionable threat intelligence.

TA Associates adds four VPs

TA Associates said Wednesday that Amara Suebsaeng, Alex Melamud and Max Cancre have rejoined the firm as Vice Presidents in Boston, Menlo Park and London, respectively. John DiCola has joined the firm as a Vice President in Boston.

Alibaba Group, Foxconn and SoftBank have led a $500 million investment in Snapdeal. Existing investors Temasek, BlackRock, Myriad and Premji Invest also participated in this round. Snapdeal is an online marketplace in India.

SJF Ventures invests in Fit4D

Fit4D said Wednesday that it raised a Series A round of funding from SJF Ventures, Sovereign Health System and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska. Financial terms weren't announced. Fit4D is a digital health company that aims to improve the health of people with diabetes.
