KKR buys two hotels in Antwerp

KKR said Thursday it has acquired the Radisson Blu Astrid Hotel and the Park Inn Hotel in Antwerp, Belgium, in a joint venture with hotels group Algonquin. Financial terms weren’t announced. Radisson Blu is a four-star hotel with 247 rooms, while Park Inn is a three-star boutique with 59 rooms.

ZypMedia raises $4.4 mln

ExtendTV, which has rebranded as ZypMedia Inc., has completed a $4.4 million Series B funding round led by Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc. U.S Venture Partners also took part. San Francisco-based ZypMedia is an enterprise software company for local advertising.

Evrything raises another $7.5 mln

Evrything said Thursday that it has raised an additional $7.5 million in a follow-on investment. John Fogelin, formerly CTO at Wind River, has also joined as EVP of Engineering, and Neal Matheson, formerly CTO at Johnson & Johnson and Unilever, has joined the company's advisory board. London-based Evrything provides a smart products platform that aims to connect consumer products to the Web.

Arbors invests in Concord Foods

Arbor Investment said Wednesday it recapitalized Concord Foods. Financial terms weren’t announced. Brockton, Massachusetts-based Concord manufactures and supplies food products and custom ingredients to the consumer, foodservice and industrial markets.

Shoreline Fund III raises $500 mln

Shoreline Capital said Wednesday it closed its third fund at US$500 million. Investors include government and private pensions, followed by endowments, foundations, insurance companies, family offices and high-net-worth individuals. Shoreline said its overflow fund, which had initial $115 million close on June 1, will likely be oversubscribed within the month. Shoreline, of Guangzhou, China, focuses on illiquid credit-related opportunities such as non-performing loan portfolios, distressed special situations and non-distressed special situation investments.

Cyprium Partners invests in Phantom Fireworks

Cyprium Partners said Wednesday it made a sponsorless mezzanine investment in B.J. Alan Company, dba Phantom Fireworks. Financial terms weren’t announced. Youngstown, Ohio-based B.J. Alan is a retailer of consumer fireworks.

Crestview, CVC, Pinebrook invest in Fidelis Insurance

Fidelis Insurance Holdings Ltd. said Tuesday it has launched with $1.5 billion in equity capital.Crestview Partner, CVC Capital Partners and Pine Brook have invested a combined $650 million in Fidelis. Individual investors, family offices and institutional investors provided the remaining capital. Bermuda-based Fidelis provides specialty insurance and reinsurance products for property, energy, marine and aviation risk classes.

Roark invests in Naf Naf Gril

Roark Capital Group said Tuesday it has made a growth-equity investment in Naf Naf Grill. Financial terms weren’t announced. Chicago-based Naf Naf Grill provides Middle Eastern cuisine in an Americanized format.

Digital Fuel Capital buys Summit Sports

Digital Fuel Capital has acquired Summit Sports. Financial terms weren’t announced. Bloomfield, Michigan-based Summit is a consumer sporting goods retailer, wholesaler and manufacturer. Jim Johnson and Bob Forbes of Forbes M+A Group advised Summit.

Intel leads $20 mln round for Brit + Co

Brit + Co said Tuesday it raised $20 million in Series B funding led by Intel Capital with additional participation from DMGT, Liberty Media, Oak Capital and select angels including Jim Fielding. Brit + Co said it also acquired Snapguide, a free iOS app and web service that allows users to create and share step-by-step "how-to guides”. Brit + Co is an e-commerce and online media startup.
