Myomo Inc. said Wednesday its Series B-1 round raised $5 million led by Mountain Group Capital. Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Myomo is a medical device company specializing in myoelectric orthotics for people with neurological disorders.

Tencent has acquired a minority stake in Pocket Gems, a San Francisco-based developer of mobile games. Financial terms weren’t announced. The Wall Street Journal said Tencent has acquired a 20 percent stake for $60 million. Sequoia Capital is an investor of Pocket Gems.

Mud Pie LLC has acquired the stake in the company owned by Lineage Capital LLC. Monroe Capital LLC provided the subordinated debt funding that allowed Mud Pie to return to 100 percent family ownership. Atlanta-based Mud Pie makes affordably priced gifts for the home and hostess, for babies and toddlers, seasonal and holiday gifts and a collection of fashion and fashion accessories.

Nassau Reinsurance Group said Wednesday that it has received initial capital commitments of more than $750 million from Golden Gate Capital to form an insurance and reinsurance platform. Phillip Gass, the former Chairman of Fidelity & Guaranty Life, and Kostas Cheliotis, an ex-Director and Chairman of the Compensation Committee of FGL, are leading the platform and have both invested. Gass will serve as Chairman & CEO of the platform while Cheliotis will be EVP & Chief Operating Officer.

Roark Capital Group said Wednesday it has acquired Pet Supermarket. The seller was Charles West Jr., Pet Supermarket’s founder. Financial terms weren’t announced. Pet Supermarket, a pet specialty retailer, will continue to be led by CEO Diane Holtz and headquartered in Sunrise, Florida. News of the deal was reported by peHUB in April. Golub Capital provided financing. Steve Tishman of Houlihan Lokey advised Pet Supermarket.

David DiPiero, FGI’s president and CEO, said Wednesday the firm has launched FGI Equity which will make minority and majority investments in middle market growth companies. Sectors of focus include consumer products, retail, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing and some selected technologies such as cyber security. Harriette Terbell is also joining FGI Equity as managing partner. Terbell is the founder of Terbell Partners Ltd. and was formerly a General Partner at Alsacia Venture Investments.
