Ebix Inc. (Nasdaq: EBIX) has agreed to acquire ConfirmNet Corp., a San Diego-based provider of ASP software on an SAAS basis for issuing and tracking certificates of insurance. The deal includes both an up-front cash payment and earn-outs, with expected payments through the next few months to be between $10 million and $11 million. No longer-term estimates were disclosed. ConfirmNet raised a $7 million round in 2000 led by Princeton Growth Investments.

Antenna Software, a Jersey City, N.J.-based provider of enterprise mobility solutions, has acquired the assets of Vettro Corp., a New York-based provider of mobile applications for the field service industry. No financial terms were disclosed. Antenna Software has raised $53 million in VC funding since 2001, from firms like Commonwealth Capital Ventures, North Bridge Venture Partners and Polaris Venture Partners. Vettro had raised over $40 million since 2000, from firms like Greylock Partners, Globespan Capital Partners, Kodiak Venture Partners and Sigma Partners.

Boingo Wireless Inc., a Santa Monica, Calif.-based operator of Wi-Fi networks, has acquired Opti-Fi Networks, a provider of Wi-Fi infrastructure implementation and management for airports, from Parsons Transportation Group and ARINC. No financial terms were disclosed. Boingo has raised over $63 million in VC funding from Mitsui & Co., New Enterprise Associates, Sternhill Partners, Evercore Partners, Steelpoint Capital and Red Rock Ventures.

JADO Technologies GmbH, a Dresden, Germany-based developer of RAFT intervention therapeutics, has raised €3.9 million in Series B funding. Peppermint Financial Partners led the round, and was joined by NRW.Bank and return backers Dresden Fonds GmbH, EMBL Ventures, KfW (ERP-Startfonds), Max Planck Society and MASA Life Science Ventures.

Endocare Inc. (Nasdaq: ENDO) has agreed to merge with Galil Medical Ltd., an Israel-based maker of cryotherapy systems for use in kidney and prostate cancer treatments. Under terms of the arrangement, Endocare stockholders will hold 52% of the combined company, while Galil shareholders will hold the remaining 48 percent. Galil Medical has raised over $40 million in VC funding from firms like Thomas, McNerney & Partners, The Vertical Group and Elron Electronic Industries Ltd.

Precision Therapeutics Inc., a Pittsburgh-based oncology services company, has raised $43 million in sixth-round funding. Longitude Venture Partners led the round, and was joined by return backers Adams Capital Management, Quaker BioVentures, Birchmere Ventures, Techno Venture Management and Draper Triangle Ventures. The company has now raised over $125million in total VC funding since its 1995 inception.
