Boston City seeks private markets fund managers

The Massachussetts pension fund wants help with its investment needs.

Boston City Retirement System (BCRS) is soliciting proposals from investment management firms to manage a private markets mandate. The search will target funds focused on secondaries, mezzanine, distressed debt, venture debt and special situation/turnaround strategies. Electronic copies of the RFP and supporting documents should be sent no later than October 31.

The $4 billion US public pension has a current private equity allocation of 5.1 percent against a 7 percent target allocation.
