CCMP hires former Mobile Messenger CEO

The firm has named Michael Iaccarino an executive advisor and operating executive. He will also act as chairman of CCMP portfolio company Infogroup.

CCMP Capital Advisors has hired former chief executive officer of Mobile Messenger Michael Iaccarino as an executive advisor and operating executive, based in New York.

Iaccarino will focus on investment opportunities in the information services and digital marketing sectors and will assume the role of chairman of CCMP portfolio company Infogroup, a provider of sales and marketing data and intelligence. He will also advise CCMP portfolio companies on their digital marketing strategies.

In addition to working at Mobile Messenger, a mobile phone marketing company acquired by Silver Lake Sumeru in 2008, Iaccarino previously held the position of CEO of database marketing company Epsilon. He was also a senior accountant at KPMG’s high technology practice and a senior manager at Pricewaterhouse Coopers.

Iaccarino is the second executive advisor to be hired at CCMP in the past four months. In March, the firm hired former chief financial officer of Gucci Group Robert Singer as an executive director focused on the consumer and retail sectors in Europe, where CCMP is expanding its investment activities. The firm also added former JPMorgan executive Robert McGuire as a “senior member” and member of its investment committee last August.

CCMP specialises in upper mid-market buyouts and growth equity investments of $100 million to $500 million in the US and Europe. The firm focuses on the consumer, industrial, energy and healthcare industries.

CCMP’s most recent fund, CCMP Capital Advisors II, closed on $3.4 billion in 2007. The firm spun out of JPMorgan in 2006.
