CCMP Capital Advisors has named former JPMorgan executive Robert McGuire as a “senior member” and member of its investment committee, effective 18 August 2010. McGuire’s role at CCMP, the equivalent of a managing director, will be overseeing the expansion of the firm’s investment activities in Europe. He will based in CCMP’s London Office.
McGuire most recently served as vice chairman of JPMorgan Cazenove, where he was responsible for senior client relationships with UK-based companies, focusing on those in the energy sector.
“[McGuire] will play an integral part in sourcing, analysing and executing investment opportunities in Europe,” said CCMP president and chief executive officer Stephen Murray in a statement.
McGuire is the most recent high profile executive to have joined CCMP, which last July hired former chief executive officer of Richard Zannino as a managing director to co-lead the firm’s consumer, retail and media investment businesses.
In September 2008, CCMP hired turnaround specialist Greg Brenneman as chairman of the firm. Brenneman had served as a senior executive at Quiznos, Burger King and Continental Airways.
The firm has bided its time during the past few years, being selective with the investments it makes. In June 2009, the firm offered $202 million for bankrupt clothing retailer Eddie Bauer, but eventually lost the auction.
CCMP spun out of JPMorgan in 2006. The firm was formerly known as JPMorgan Partners.
