Cisco has agreed to buy Whiptail for $415 million in cash. Whippany, N.J.-based Whiptail is a storage software company that has received venture capital funding from investors including Spring Mountain Capital, RRE Ventures and Ignition Partners. Evercore acted as financial advisor to Whiptail.
