Connecticut Retirement approves $90m in commitments

The US public pension has backed two North America-focused funds.

Connecticut Retirement Plans and Trust Funds has approved a commitment of up to $50 million to Balance Point Capital Partners III, which will focus on private debt and equity co-investments in lower middle market North American companies, and up to $40 million to RFE Investment Partners IX, which will focus on control buyout investments in lower middle market companies based primarily in the US.

The $33 billion US public pension has a 32 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 27.8 percent.
