CPPIB's Edwin Cass appointed to Markit's board of directors

Edwin Cass has joined the board of directors of Markit Ltd (Nasdaq: MRKT), a London-based provider of financial information services. The appointment of Cass, a senior managing director and chief investment strategist at Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), follows the pension fund's investment in the company at the time of its initial public offering. Founded by Canadian-born executive Lance Uggla, Markit is a portfolio company of U.S. private equity firm General Atlantic, Singapore investment firm Temasek Holdings and other investors.
