Acanthus Advisers, the independent placement agent based in London, has hired Laurent de Rosière to work with the firm’s founder, Armando D’Amico, on sourcing fundraising mandates.
De Rosière joins from RVC Europe, the venture capital fund spun out of Reuters in September 2001, where for the last two years he was director of marketing, business development and investor relations. Previously, he worked with Reuters in London, and in Munich as head of the Reuters Greenhouse Fund German office. Prior to joining Reuters he held various positions at Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild in Geneva, where he was involved in managing the funds of hedge funds activities and fund distributions.
Acanthus, set up in 1998, provides primary and secondary fund placement as well as corporate finance services. Since its inception it has advised general partners and fund sponsors in Europe and Israel on capital raising, joint partnerships, or fund conception and structuring. Acanthus has also advised fund of funds managers in fund screening and selection.
The firm is currently coordinating fundraising for a number of private equity firms across Europe, including Cape, which is E80m to E110m for a small-mid cap buyout in Italy, and Triangle, the Germany-based venture capital firm which is looking to raise between E50m and E75m.
