Ex-Wind Point, Jordan execs launch Growth Catalyst Partners

Growth Catalyst Partners LLC has launched as a middle market private equity firm in Chicago targeting buyout investments in marketing, information, media and business services sectors. Growth Catalyst was founded by Jim TenBroek, a former managing director at Wind Point Partners and Scott Peters, former Co-President of The Jordan, Edmiston Group Inc. Growth Catalyst has made its first investment in Opus Agency, of Beaverton, Oregon. Opus is a corporate events agency that services the technology sector.

Cotton Creek ups two to senior associate

Texas-based private equity firm Cotton Creek Capital has promoted Christopher Weems and Alan Goldstein to senior associate. Both Weems and Goldstein joined the firm in 2014.

Safariland recruits Williams as COO

The Safariland Group, a Jacksonville, Florida-based provider of safety and survivability products for the public safety, military, professional and outdoor markets, has hired Brad E. Williams for chief operating officer. The appointment becomes effective today. Previously, Williams worked at IDEX Corp where he served as president of the material processing technologies group. Safariland is a portfolio company of Kanders & Co.

Orrick beefs up Italian M&A and PE practice with new hire

Law firm Orrick has hired Gabriel Monzon-Cortarelli as a partner for its Milan-based M&A and private equity practice. Monzon-Cortarelli previously worked at Seyfarth Shaw where he led the Italian desk.

Silverfleet taps Eidem as Nordic region co-head

Silverfleet Capital has appointed Karl Eidem as co-head of the Nordic region. Previously, Eidem worked at Swedish national pension fund AP6 where he served as an investment director.

Comvest Capital hires Goila as MD

Comvest Capital, Comvest Partners' direct lending group, has named Tom Goila as a managing director. Previously, Goila worked at Goldman Sachs' specialty lending group.

Intermedix promotes Wailes to CFO

Nashville-based Intermedix, a provider of tech-enabled solutions for the global health and safety net, has named Kyle Wailes as chief financial officer. Previously, Wailes was an executive vice president at the company. His work background includes roles at Thomas Weisel Partners, Altaris Capital Partners and Citigroup.

Vencerx taps VSS managing partner Stevenson as board chairman

Vencerx Therapeutics, which is focused on advancing treatments for neurodevelopmental disorders, has appointed Dr. Robert H. Ring as CEO and Jeffrey Stevenson as chairman of the board of directors. Stevenson is managing partner of VSS while Ring is the former CEO of Autism Speaks.

Pimco hires former Blackstone senior managing director Greg Hall: Reuters

Pacific Investment Management Co on Thursday said it had hired Gregory Hall as a managing director and head of private strategies, Reuters reported.
