Yaletown's Salil Munjal to lead TMX-backed innovation roundtable

TMX Group announced it is funding an independent working group, the Advancing Innovation Roundtable, to examine ways to increase access to growth capital for Canadian innovative companies. Launching next month, the roundtable will deliver recommendations in early 2017. Members of the roundtable will include senior investment professionals. It will be chaired by Salil Munjal, a general partner at Yaletown Partners. PE Hub Canada interviewed Munjal earlier this year about the capital gap facing late-stage technology companies in Canada, as well as Yaletown's plans to raise a $135 million emerging-growth fund.

Imedex, which is owned by Vesey Street Capital Partners LLC, has appointed Dan Lowrie as CEO. Previously, Lowrie worked at MedAssets where he served as senior vice president of spend operations. Based in Alpharetta, Georgia, Imedex is a provider of continuing medical education for healthcare professionals.

Hamilton Lane taps Gavalis as deputy general counsel

Hamilton Lane has named Lydia A. Gavalis as deputy general counsel. Previously, Gavalis worked at SEI. In addition to this appointment, Fred Shaw, the former compliance director, will become chief compliance officer.

TPG names Morgan Stanley PE exec to lead South Korea

TPG hired Sanghoon Lee as a partner responsible for leading the firm's Asia investment activities in South Korea. Prior to TPG, Lee most recently worked as managing director and head of Korea for Morgan Stanley Private Equity.

Hidden Harbor Capital Partners appointed Ken Trent as operating partner. Trent, formerly president and owner of Professional Power Products, will oversee industrial businesses.

Pharos adds two senior financial analysts

Private equity firm Pharos Capital Group, LLC hired James S. Kerrigan and Kevin A. Ryan as senior financial analysts. Kerrigan will be based in Dallas and Ryan will work out of Nashville.

J.W. Childs hires Grove Street Advisors executive to lead investor relations

J.W. Childs Associates hired Philippe Schenk, a former executive at Grove Street Advisors, as managing director. Schenk will lead investor relations. The firm also hired Kyle Casella, who formerly worked at Weston Presidio where he focused on consumer/retail and business services, as a vice president. J.W. Childs also hired Jess Yuan, former investment banking analyst at Deloitte Corporate Finance, as an analyst.

Pantheon expands real assets team, promotes Corley to partner

Pantheon promoted Evan Corley, who leads the firm's real assets platform, to partner. Corley has worked at Pantheon since 2004 and has worked on real assets since its inception in March 2015. Since that time, the strategy has raised close to $1 billion in committed capital. Pantheon also hired Dinesh Ramasamy and Samayita Das as vice presidents on the infrastructure and real assets team. Ramasamy joined the firm from Goldman Sachs and Sam joined from J.P. Morgan.
