Former Electra Partners Europe director Judy Marsden has left the firm after twelve years with the firm’s marketing department.
Marsden has set up Private Equity Research, a research company that will provide marketing and brand awareness services to private equity practitioners across the UK and Continental Europe.
According to Marsden, the new firm will undertake research designed to give clients insight into their market position, allowing them to benchmark against competitors. The client base is likely to include private equity firms and leveraged financiers, as well as accountants, lawyers and consultants.
“Knowing how your firm is perceived by its target audience helps in formulating an effective business development strategy,” said Marsden. “Despite the poor conditions in the M&A market generally, this is a good time to start a business of this kind.”
Judy Marsden joined Electra in 1990, having previously been a vice president in structured finance at Security Pacific Hoare Govett. In 2000, she was made responsible for Electra Partners Europe’s marketing activities at its London, Paris and Frankfurt offices, including the re-launch as an independent firm following the MBO from Electra Investment Trust. She also worked on the subsequent E1bn fundraising for the Electra European Fund.
