ERS Texas approves $40m in commitments

The US public pension has committed to two private equity vehicles.

Employees Retirement System of Texas has agreed to commit $25 million to ERS Private Equity Emerging Manager Fund III; a separate account managed by Baring Private Equity Asia, and $15 million to an undisclosed co-investment vehicle, a contact at the pension informed Private Equity International.

The $28.29 billion US public pension has a 13.0 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 14.93 percent.

As illustrated below, Employees Retirement System of Texas has made five commitments to private equity funds with a 2019 vintage, which combined constitute $309.39 million.
