Peter Larsen, a former Hamilton Lane principal, has joined placement agent Atlantic-Pacific Capital as a principal, according to a statement.

In his new role, Larsen will be leading a team that evaluates financial sponsor projects. It is unclear when Larsen will start.

Hamilton Lane declined to comment, while Atlantic-Pacific Capital did not return a request for comment.

During his 11 years at Hamilton Lane, Larsen worked in New York, Philadelphia and London where he evaluated buyout, venture capital, mezzanine, credit and real estate private equity funds.

Prior to this, he was a consultant to a biotechnology incubator, where he assisted developing a marketing strategy for fundraising purposes. Before that, Larsen worked in the private funds group at financial services firm WR Hambrecht + Co. He has also worked in the institutional and trading department at brokerage firm Charles Schwab.

Larsen’s “wealth of experience in evaluating alternative investment opportunities will provide significant benefits to all our clients,” Mark Bourgeois, Atlantic-Pacific Capital’s chief executive and president, said in a statement.

Atlantic-Pacific’s “selective and customised approach has proven especially effective in today’s fundraising climate,” Larsen said in the statement. “I am excited to expand the firm’s due diligence process in order to continue the focus on best-in-class managers.”
