Hellman & Friedman promotes five(2)

The firm has promoted three professionals to managing directors and partners, part of a raft of promotions and new hires in its San Francisco, New York and London offices.

Hellman & Friedman has promoted five individuals and added three new professionals in its San Francisco, New York and London offices.

The firm has promoted Hunter Philbrick, Judd Sher and Tarim Wasim to managing directors and partners, bringing the total number of partners at the firm to 17. All of Hellman & Friedman’s managing directors are also partners.

Philbrick has been with the firm since 2003 and focuses on healthcare and insurance investments. Sher joined Hellman & Friedman last year as chief financial officer from Deloitte, where he was a principal in the mergers and acquisitions transaction services group. Wasim has worked at Hellman & Friedman since 2005 and focuses on digital media, internet and business services investments.

Sher and Wasim are based in Hellman & Friedman’s San Francisco office, while Philbrick works out of the firm’s New York office.

Hellman & Friedman has also promoted Philip Sternheimer to director in London and Stephen Ensley to principal in New York.

In addition to the promotions, the firm has hired principals Philip Meicler and Suzanne Kim, and associate counsel Rachel Wilson. All three individuals are based in San Francisco. The firm is planning to hire additional principals in both New York and San Francisco in 2013.
