The Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA) has appointed Tanya Carmichael of Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan to chair its board of directors.
Carmichael is the director of global funds and private capital at OTPP and was appointed the position at ILPA annual general meeting on 3 November.
“We are at a pivotal juncture in the development of our industry, and ILPA is well-positioned to provide leadership in efforts to strengthen the asset class,” Carmichael said in a statement.
The industry association is currently seeking feedback on a fee reporting template it unveiled in late October that aims to standardise the way general partners report to their investors, as reported by Private Equity International. The consultation on the template, which is part of ILPA’s Fee Transparency Initiative, will close in December.
Other new ILPA board members include Scott Jacobsen of The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS), Serra Erdogmus of the Canadian Medical Protective Association, Jennifer Magaña of SouthOcean Capital Partners, Rob Ross of California State Teachers’ Retirement System, and Anders Strömblad of AP2, Second Swedish National Pension Fund.
Its returning directors and members of the executive committee include Stephen Whatmore of QIC Limited as vice chair; Nicolas Drapeau of Bimcor as secretary; Jennifer Kerr of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board as treasurer; Fabrizio Natale of Washington State Investment Board as chair of GP Summit Committee; Kimberly Woods of IAM National Pension Fund as chair of Industry Affairs Committee; Maurice Gordon of Guardian Life Insurance Corporation of America as chair of Membership Committee; and Neil Randall of Teacher Retirement System of Texas as chair of Research, Benchmarking & Standards Committee.
Continuing members-at-large are William Chu of Zurich Alternative Asset Management and Maggie Radford of Bonanza Oil Company.
ILPA has more than 330 institutional member organisations in more than 40 countries, collectively managing over $1 trillion in PE assets.
